- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆After 10 years of loyal service Farmers raised my rates 70 dollars a month after I removed my home owners insurance. When I complained they made no effort to fix this and said that after being "pro-rated" for 4 month (at 200 dollars a month!!!!) I'd still have a nearly 50 dollar a month increase. They were pretty snooty about it over the phone and made it sound like these rates were normal (which they are not and I have a great driving record as well). I switched companies the same day in about 5 minutes over the phone with another company. My rates with the other company are far superior. In fact the total cost with my new company is actually 30 dollars less per month for my combined cycle/car insurance than I was paying Farmers even before dropping my home owners!
